New Challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges with Rosetta by Wee Stamps

Hi everybody!!!

Today we start a new challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges, the theme is Sunshine, use the sun as inspiration and this is the project I made with that theme in mind:
The gorgeous image I used is Rosetta by Wee Stamps (available as a digital image HERE and as a rubber stamp HERE). I decided to use the bright colors of the sun as inspiration and to use some sunflowers at the same time. The stunning papers that I used are Basic Grey Picadilly (mostly the 6x6 paper pad but also some 12x12 papers) combined with orange and kraft colored cardstock. The gorgeous golden pearls are Flourishes with a Bling Antique Gold Chloe pearls. These are two big swirls but I cut them into pieces and used them everywhere on the box. All the pearls you see on both the top and the inside of the box are from one set. Everything was hand-stitched and I used some platinum Stickles.

The gorgeous flowers used are of course all by Wild Orchid Crafts and they are:
Yellow Sunflower
White Sunflower
White and Orange chrysanthemums
Yellow Mulberry Paper Open Roses 25 mm (I colored the edges a bit with the colors I used on the roses in the image)
Orange Mulberry Paper Open Roses 25 mm
Golden Yellow Mulberry Paper Open Roses 15 mm (again with the edges colored a bit)
Orange Mulberry Paper Open Roses 15 mm
Orange Mulberry Paper Cherry Blossom
White Aster Daisy Stem Flowers

A close up of gorgeous Rosetta. The white dots are white Liquid Pearls and the wings have a layer of Diamond Stickles on them.
A side view to see the dimension in the image better. The inside of the box was painted white, the outside got an extra layer of Tim Holtz Distress Paint Frayed Burlap, I also used the Frayed Burlap ink to distress the edges of the papers and image.
And the inside of the box. My sweet friend Diana bought this box from me, it was bare wood but did already have the tray and mirror. You can take the tray (that also was decorated with Basic Grey Picadilly papers) out and underneath is room for more jewelry. Flowers used on the mirror are:
Sweetheart Blossom Flowers (not sure of the color, these exact ones seem to be out of stock)
And a picture of the little pieces used to create this image. The leaves aren't cut yet at this point, I did those one by one when the image was almost done. Coloring has been done with Copic Markers as always :).

Well hope you like my project, it's a birthday gift to my mother in law :). So now it's your turn to get inspired by the theme Sunshine. Have fun and don't forget to enter your entry at Wild Orchid Challenges

The current challenge theme at Simon Says Stamp Challenge is Flower Power..... I don't think I have to explain how this box fits into that challenge do I, LOL. So I'm entering this box into that challenge.

Oh and before I forget, be sure to check out the Wee Stamps blog later today as you are getting a sneak peek of the new images with a surprise!

Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge 76 - 3 or more different types of flowers with Flower Fairy

Hi everybody,

Maybe you have already seen it yesterday on the Wild Orchid Crafts blog, I am extremely proud to announce that I am the new member of their design team. I absolutely LOVE their flowers and their ribbon and, while I am extremely happy with the teams I am on at the moment and really didn't want any more teams to add to the list, this was the only team that was still on my wishlist but I was absolutely sure it would stay a dream. Bev Rochester however made my year by asking me if I wanted to join and this was one team I didn't have to think about for a second :). So a HUGE thank you to Wild Orchid Crafts and especially to Bev Rochester for having me!

Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge blog and the challenge is "3 or more different types of flowers". Since the WOC flower selection holds a wide range of different flowers not that difficult. This is the project I created as a sample for this new challenge:
The adorable fairy is one of the Flower Fairies by Wee Stamps (available as digital images HERE and as rubber stamps HERE). This isn't a card but a Slip Cover box. You may remember I made two of these before HERE. The template is by My Time Made Easy and I think these boxes are perfect for little gifts.

The Wild Orchid Crafts products I used are:
Ivory Open Roses 20mm
Mixed Purple/Lilac Tone Trellis Roses 35mm
Purple/Lilac Tone Mulberry Paper Cherry Blossom Flowers
White Sweetheart Blossom Flowers
Lilac Sweetheart Blossom Flowers
12mm Gold Satin Ribbon

The gorgeous designpaper I used is Maja Designs Vintage Spring. I have distressed with Tea Dye distress ink and I have embossed some swirls with golden embossing powder.
This is the box open. I'm not sure what I'm going to put in there yet or who I'm going to give this to but it's always handy to have some of these gift wraps around.
And a close up of the fairy. As always colored with my Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.
And the little pieces :).

I hope you enjoyed my little box and will give the new Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge a try. See you back soon!!

Whimsy Stamps and Wee Stamps April release with sample

Hey everybody!!

You may have already noticed but, Whimsy Stamps has released some brand new Rubber Stamps & Stamp Sets, Whimsy Shapeology Dies, Shape EZ by TLC templates and Whimsy Designer Paper 6x6 packs. These new goodies are available to buy right now from the Whimsy Stamps store along with all your Whimsy favourites. There are also two, no actually three new Wee Stamps' images, one single (Rosetta) and one set (Flower Fairies), that have been released as rubber stamps and also as digital images. There have already been two blog hops by the Whimsy Stamps team and two gorgeous showcase days by the Wee Stamps team on the Wee Stamps blog HERE. Today I am part of the blog hop by Whimsy Stamps with a sample created with one of those images.

You may have noticed that Whimsy Stamps has changed her rubber release schedule this month. We are now hosting a 3-day new release event where we have a Sneak Peek Blog Hop on the day before the release (the day before yesterday), a Release Day Blog Hop on release day (yesterday), and finally a Review Day Blog Hop the day after the release (today).

Each blog hop has a prize of 2 new release stamps hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw.

To be entered into today's blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT posts listed below my sample by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on Friday (26 April).

Here is my sample for today's blog hop using one of the adorable newly release Flower Fairies by Wee Stamps (availabe as a rubber stamp set HERE and as a digital image set HERE):
Isn't she just adorable? The sentiment is part of the set she comes with. the papers I have used are pink cardstock, kraft cardstock and Maja Design Vintage Spring Collection (both the large 12x12 sheets and the 6x6 paper pad have been used). The adorable flowers that I thought matched both the image and the designpaper perfectly are Wild Orchid Crafts white Sweetheart Blossoms. The leaves are from a McGill punch.
The project I created was actually a sliderbox that I created using THIS tutorial by Beate Johns, Beate used a different Spellbinder die though so I had to alter the sizes somewhat. My hidden tag reads "Fijne Moederdag" which means "Happy Mothers-day" in Dutch, I'm going to use this little box to give my mum in law a mothers-day present.
A close up of the adorable little fairy from the Flower Fairies set. As always colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.

And the little pieces she was made of.

I hope you have enjoyed my sample for today, to take a peek at today's fabulous creations by the other blog hop stops, please click on the links below...

Birthday Baby Boy by Wee Stamps

Hey everybody,

First welcome to my new followers! Sorry for not having the busiest blog around, I do try but live is busy with three kids!! Anyway, I'm back with another card from the last Wee Stamps release. I already showed you my sample with Love you Slow Much but Birthday Baby Boy was also released on that same day, both as a digital image and as a rubber stamp.
I don't know about you but I find boys or men's cards much harder to make then cards for girls or women. For boys I usually go for stars (and yes there are stars on the design paper *lol*) but this time I wanted to try something new. I had seen this die by Lil' Inker Designs that makes the cutest Pinwheel and I had to have that for my card so I ordered it but shipping took ages. I finally received the die on Tuesday so now my card is finished. I used two dies by Lil' Inker Designs, the Mini Pinwheel Die and the Stitched Sentiment Flag Die, love them both :).

The fabulous paper is from an old line by Echo Park Little Boy. I had a few sheets of this paper and found me some more at Krea Teja HERE and I combined it with Bazzill Basic Cardstock. The distressing was done with Frayed Burlap distress ink and I decided to use my Silver Stickles this time.
As always the Birthday Baby Boy was colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.
And voila, the little pieces it took to built this little guy and his cute little friend :).

I'm entering this card into the current challenge at Simon Says Stamp! which is Happy Birthday, and

Hope you enjoyed that! Hope to be back soon with more to show you!!

Published card with Playful Kitten(s)

Hey everybody,

I still owe you my card with the Birthday Baby Boy by Wee Stamps but I'm still waiting on a die that I really want to use on that card so you'll have to wait a little longer :). I do have a card I haven't shown here yet. Some months ago Denise Lynn, the owner of Whimsy Stamps, asked me if I wanted to do a card with one of the then soon to be released Playful Kittens by Wee Stamps for an English Magazine named Creative Stamping. Naturally I said yes and this is the card I made for them that was published in the no 8 issue of that magazine:

As always the kitten was colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced but I don't have a picture of the little pieces, I do have a list of the materials I used:

Stamps:
Playful Kittens by Wee Stamps (as digital image or rubber stamp), Everyday Mini Postage Stamps by Raindrop Echo Designs (and matching die)
Paper:
Cardstock and My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing patterned paper
Embellishments:
Pink self adhesive pearls from stash, lace from stash, Fabric Flowers from stash, Pebbles Inc Crystal Candy Dots (center of flower), stickles (platinum and frosted lace) and stitches by hand

Hope you liked this little cutie. Have a great day everybody!!

Release Day at Wee Stamps and Whimsy Stamps with sample

Hello everybody!

Today it's that day of the month again, both Wee Stamps and Whimsy Stamps are releasing their new lines. Wee Stamps of course both as digital images and as rubber stamps through Whimsy Stamps. This month I have decided to only join in the releases with samples of the new Wee Stamps images/stamps so I won't be joining the Whimsy mini hops but you might want to do the hops because as always there are prices hidden along the way. First let me give you the details about the Whimsy release:

Today, Whimsy Stamps is releasing 27 fantastic new Rubber Stamps & Stamp Sets, 6 wonderful new Whimsy Shapeology Dies, 2 fabulous new Shape EZ by TLC templates, 2 beautiful Whimsy Designer Paper 6x6 packs, and 2 *NEW* gorgeous sets of Whimsy Prints. These new goodies are available to buy right now from the Whimsy Stamps store along with all your Whimsy favourites. We are thrilled to announce that Monika Martinson has joined our talented group of stamp illustrators! Monika draws the most beautiful floral images and we are releasing 3 gorgeous rubber stamp sets illustrated by Monika for Whimsy Stamps this month.  Welcome to the Whimsy Stamps family, Monika!

I'll give you the details about the Whimsy mini hops on the bottom of this post because now I really want to show you my card with the absolutely adorable Love you Slow Much by Sylvia Zet (available as a digital image HERE and as a rubber stamp HERE):
You may recognize Sylvia's Peggy. I told Sylvia that somehow this image, probably the hair, reminded me of a sort of Geisha and she asked me if I was going to color her hair black. That made me realize I had never done black hair before! And this hair isn't really black either, I have been google-ing images of black hair and decided I wanted brown-black hair like Beyonce has on some pictures so that's what I was aming for. The darkest parts are the 100-Copic Marker (=black) but then I went to W9, W7, E47, E44. The sentiment is from the Raindrop Echo Thank you Tabs 1 set by Whimsy Stamps and it was cut with the matching die. The designpaper is an old line from Basic Grey, Plumeria. I wanted to use a sheet of that line with little flowers because that matched the Geisha theme but as you can see, that paper didn't make it to the card :). I recently discovered a (for me) new store, Flourish with a Bling and they have this huge selection of pearls and swirls. I bought this gorgeous soft sparkling Jasmine Puffy Flourish in Lilac and decided to use that cut in pieces. The purple pearls are also from this company. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and I used purple and platinum Stickles around the papers.
A close up of the image, as always colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.
And the little pieces that created the image. You may notice that the dress has a little different color in the little pieces. When pieced together I didn't like the white so I added some orange, that took some very careful coloring LOL.

Our fabulous Guest Designers at Wee Stamps have more gorgeous cards to show you. Not only with Love you Slow Much but also with a new image called Birthday Baby Boy. I will show you a card with the Birthday Baby Boy tomorrow but be sure to check out the gorgeousness on the Wee blog today HERE.

And for even more inspiration there is of course the Whimsy mini hops starting today:

Just @ Note Memo chalkboard

Hey everybody!!

I'm back today with a project that I made both for Let's Get Bizzee! and Whimsy Stamps. From Let's Get Bizzee I received this adorable 3-pieced Harmonica Booklet and Let's Get Bizzee Chalkboard foil, I didn't have to use these to together, because the chalkboard foil can be used on just about anything, but when I saw the February release by 2 Cute Ink for Whimsy Stamps I knew I had to pair them up with the Write, Paint, Create! stampset.

The papers I have used are from my old stash so you won't be able to find them in stores anymore. The letters are Thickers and I used tangerine Stickles around the chalkboard foil. If you want to read how I made this project please visit the Let's Get Bizzee blog today, there will be a small tutorial there, it will be in Dutch but if you have any question just ask them here and I'll answer them. And remember, Let's Get Bizzee is a wholesaler that sells worldwide so if you see any products you would really like to own just ask your favorite retailer to take these products in their collection or you can check out one of the retailers (winkeliers) in The Netherlands and Belgium on the sidebar of the Let's Get Bizzee blog.

You can click on the image above for a better view of the complete project but here are the cut animals from the Write, Paint, Create! set:

And since the light was horrible when I took these pictures also a second picture of the completed project :)
As always the animals were colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.
And the little pieces to proof it :). If you want to try 3D paper piecing for the first time 2 Cute Ink is a very good stamp brand to start with.

Well hope you like my project! I'm busy with the March Wee Stamps release as I type this so I'll show you that in a week or so. Until then...

Whimsy February Showcase day 7 with Cradled by the Moon

Hello and welcome to Day 7 of Whimsy Stamps February Rubber & Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (20 February) Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, Shapeology dies, Whimsy Designer Paper packs and new Shape EZ templates. From then until today, 26 February the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guest are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop! Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw. To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 27 February. I will give you a list of todays hops at the bottom of this post.

Today I have a little box to show you that I decorated with Crissy Armstrong's Cradled by the Moon.
Somehow this picture seems a little blurry but I hope that when you click it you will see it really isn't. Isn't this image absolutely adorable? I have created a box with on both sides a shape cut out with the Whimsy Stamps' Double Scalloped Square Doily Die. There are actually two of these shapes glued together on both sides to make the box, and especially the doily part, a little more sturdy. The inner box is 6,5x6,5x2,7 cm's. The ribbon on top of the box is Pink Petal Vanilla Latte Ribbon, also from Whimsy Stamps as are the Moon and Star charm and the Baker's Twine that the charm is hanging from. Finally the sentiment is from the Welcome Baby Sentiments set by Raindrop Echo Designs. The flowers and the pearl stars are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Here is a close up of the gorgeous image, as always colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.
And the side and inside of the box. Perfect to give a little gift like some baby socks :).
And the little pieces that were used to built this image.

I hope you enjoyed my last peek for this release. To take a peek at today's fabulous new release creations by the other design team members, please click on the links bellow

Whimsy Stamps February Showcase Day 6 with Bunny's Choice

Hello and welcome to Day 6 of Whimsy Stamps February Rubber & Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (20 February) Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, Shapeology dies, Whimsy Designer Paper packs and new Shape EZ templates. From then until 26 February the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guest are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop! I'll give you a list of today's hops at the end of this post.

Today I have a card to show you using one of the new Little Cottage Cuties stamps, Bunny's Choice.
Isn't that little bunny just adorable? The papers I used are also new this release, they are from Michele Roos' Easter Eggstravaganza 6x6 paper pack and they are absolutely perfect for your easter projects. I have matched them with orange Bazzill cardstock so I guess you do need to like orange to appreciate my card :). The pretty corner is also by Whimsy Stamps, it's part of the Corner Die set and the sentiment stamps are part of the Everyday Mini Postage Stamps and are cut with the matching die. The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves under the flowers are Prima. The pearls are Magnolia Knicker Knackers or whatever they are called that were with the newspaper Magnolia magazine and the buttons were bought at a market in Leiden. The corners were cut with Martha Stewart corner and edge punches Cherry Blossom, I bought those a long time ago and never ever used them but I thought they were perfect for this spring card. Some cheese cloth, some stitches done by hand and some platinum Stickles finish things off.
A close up of the cute image, as always colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced.
And the little pieces. As you can see I did the flowers one by hand after finishing the rest of the image, it's almost impossible to decide which flower goes where if you do it the other way around.

Well that's it for my peek today, to take a peek at today's fabulous new release creations by the other DT members, please click on the links below:

Releaseday at Wee Stamps and Whimsy Stamps with mermaid Shelley

Welcome to the Wee Stamps and  Whimsy Stamps
February 2013 release!
Hi everybody!!

As mentioned in the title... today is releaseday for both Whimsy Stamps and Wee Stamps. You will find all the details about the Whimsy release below. I would like to start by showing my project with a release by Wee Stamps though, please meet Shelley:
Isn't she gorgeous? Shelley will be released today both as a digital image and as a rubber stamp. Today is also the releaseday of Love me Do, that has been released as a digital image on February 14th, as a rubber stamp. I tried out some new stitching on this card, it took me hours but I kind of like the look. I used white cardstock and a strip of VERY old gorgeous glittery designpaper (I believe My Minds Eye). The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts as is the ribbon. The chandeliers are Magnolia and the corner and rhinestones are Melissa Frances, the shell bangle is from stash. I used both platinum and diamond Stickles, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain distress inks liquid pearls and glossy accents.
A close up of Shelley. As you can see I didn't take the picture out of exactly the right angle so now you see why I color the back with my shadow color (W5).
And the little pieces Shelley was made of. I didn't use the pearls because I decided to go for liquid pearls instead. I really hope you like my Shelley card. If you want to see more gorgeous samples with Shelley by the Wee Stamps February team please visit the Wee Stamps/Sylvia Zet blog.

Bright and colorful Peggy

Hi Everybody!!

I'm back today with a card I did for one of the Dutch retailers of Whimsy Stamps products, Krea 'Teja'. Krea 'Teja' asked me if I wanted to make a couple of cards this year as their Guest Designer and since they sell a whole lot of my favorite products and brands I jumped at the chance.

For my first card I decided to ink up one of my Wee cuties I hadn't used before. Please meet Peggy by Sylvia Zet:

Isn't Peggy adorable? She's available as a digital image HERE, as a rubber stamp HERE and as a topper HERE. Now I used a whole lot of Whimsy products. The sentiment is from the Friendship Notables 2 set, cut with the Notables 2 die, the corners are the gorgeous Lace Doily Corner 1 die and the little corner is from the corner die set. Now I have linked these all up to the Whimsy store but for my Dutch friends:
Deze producten zijn dus ook te krijgen bij Krea 'Teja', in DEZE blogpost vind je de links.

The beautiful design paper is from a Paper Pad by My Minds Eye, Indie Chic-Saffron. I adore the hot pink and orange color combination. The gorgeous oval shape is from the popular Floral Oval Nestabilities set. The leaves behind the flowers were cut out using the Magnolia Doohickey's Leaf & Swirl set. The gorgeous flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts, the pearls are the knicker nacker (or something like that) pearls that were with the Magnolia Magazine and the cardstock is Bazzill cardstock. The lace is from the Dutch Hema and I have hand stitched everything again.
A close up of little Peggy. Colored with Copic Markers and completely 3D paper pieced as always.
And the little pieces she was made of :).

Hope you enjoy your day! Tomorrow is release day at Wee Stamps and Whimsy Stamps so see you back then!!

Hugs,
